If you are one of the Self-storage operators who collect the tenant's Social Security Number before the tenant's move-in to the facility, however, you're not sure how to keep sensitive information such as SSN protected, then don't worry, we have got you covered. We, 6Storage sweep the fear out when handling an SSN (Social Security Number). Storage operators can make the Social Security Number confidential, by masking it when displayed on the tenant's lease page. Here we tell you how to enable the feature in the 'Preference settings.'

Before collecting a tenant's SSN during move-in, enable the 'Social Security Number' field at the 'Field Settings' in the 'Move-In' tab.

Once the field is enabled, the 'Social Security Number' field will be displayed on the tenant details page during their move-in.

Now, to keep the tenant’s SSN confidential, go to the ‘Settings’ tab and select ‘Preferences.’ Select ‘Other’ and scroll down the page. Enable the checkbox to make the tenant’s social security number confidential.

After the move-in is successful, the tenant's SSN will be masked when displayed on the tenant's lease page.

In case the checkbox is not enabled in the 'Preference settings', then the social security number of the tenant will not be masked on the tenant's lease page.
