Unlike V2, V3 allows taxes to be configured and applied more granularly across various charge types, helping ensure taxes are calculated accurately based on the specific products and services offered at your facility. **Key Enhancements** **Multiple Tax Support** V3 supports the application of multiple taxes, allowing businesses to accommodate state, provincial, local, or other layered tax requirements. Taxes can be configured independently and applied to specific charge categories as needed. **Tax by Charge Type** Taxes can now be assigned individually to different types of charges, including: - Rent - Fees and Services - Content Coverage (Insurance/Tenant Protection Programs) - Merchandise This enhanced flexibility allows each charge type to be taxed appropriately according to local regulations and your business requirements. **Improved Parking Tax Scenarios** V3 introduces support for more advanced parking tax configurations. For facilities that store vehicles, taxes can be configured to apply only when a tenant is renting space for vehicle parking, while remaining exempt for standard storage rentals. This allows facilities to accurately comply with jurisdictions where parking-related rentals are taxed differently than traditional self-storage units. **Important for Customers Migrating from V2** Because tax functionality has been expanded and operates differently in V3, customers migrating from V2 should review their tax configuration during implementation.
