[Financial Settings](https://help.6storage.com/knowledge-base/settings?hsLang=en#financial-settings) May 22, 2026 # Settings - Discounts ## Set up promotional discounts and control how and when they are applied to tenant accounts.   **Discount settings** can be found by selecting the **gear icon** in the top rightto open **Settings** and selecting **Financial Settings**  **![](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Feb-11-2026-03-39-28-6227-PM.png?width=349&height=387&name=image-png-Feb-11-2026-03-39-28-6227-PM.png)**   The **Discount settings** will display all the currently configured discount plans  **![Screenshot 2026-05-22 083326](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-05-22%20083326.png?width=670&height=230&name=Screenshot%202026-05-22%20083326.png)**   **Create or Manage Discount Plans** - To **edit, delete, or archive** existing plans, use the **Action** button next to each listed discount - To create a new plan, click **Add Discount** ![Screenshot 2026-05-22 083403](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-05-22%20083403.png?width=670&height=151&name=Screenshot%202026-05-22%20083403.png)   **Creating a Discount Plan** - All discount plans will need a **Plan Name**, **Start Date**, and **End date**.   - The **Start Date** and **End Date** will be the range this plan can be **applied** to tenants - You can also add a **Description on Tenant Portal** to advertise your discount - This will show up on your 6Storage Website - The **Promo Code** field will be what potential renters can type in at the checkout to apply their discount plan   ![](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Feb-11-2026-04-11-34-4557-PM.png?width=670&height=803&name=image-png-Feb-11-2026-04-11-34-4557-PM.png)     **Selecting a Discount Type** - All discount plans will need a **Discount Type** of **One-Time**, **Recurring**, or **Custom**. - **One-Time Discounts** will apply to the tenant's next invoice - If a tenant's next invoice value is lower than the **discount amount** the tenant **may not receive the full value of the discount**   - **Discount method** can be a **Fixed value** or **Percentage** - **Discount amount** will be the value of the discount - **Recurring Discounts** apply to each invoice until a **set date** - **Discount method** can be a **Fixed value** or **Percentage** - - **Discount amount** will be the value of the discount - Termination date will be when the discount stops applying to the tenant - **Applies to** can limit the discount to specific I**nvoice Periods** - **Custom Discounts** can apply to a specific month - **Pre-Pay** will require the **Number of Months** to be paid in advance - **Earn as You Stay** will allow you to get the discount after staying for the **number of months** - Each month will have the option for a **percentage** or **fixed** value **discount amount** ![](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Feb-11-2026-04-51-29-9077-PM.png?width=657&height=879&name=image-png-Feb-11-2026-04-51-29-9077-PM.png)     **Selecting where a Discount Applies To** - All discount plans can be restricted to specific **Facilities, Unit Types, Unit Groups, Tenant Types,** and **Line Items** - **Facilities**, **Unit Types**, and **Unit Groups** are set up to match your business' operations to categorize your units - **Tenant types** are either P**ersonal** or **Business** **Users** - **Line Item Types** appear on the invoices.  The discount can be specifically applied to **Rent**, **Fees/Services**, or **Merchandise** ![](https://help.6storage.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Feb-11-2026-05-00-06-0178-PM.png?width=655&height=880&name=image-png-Feb-11-2026-05-00-06-0178-PM.png)   Select **Save** to finalize your discount plan    - [What's New?
