Keep It Simple Storage - Integrated Gate System

Integration with Keep It Simple Storage (KISS)

Keep It Simple Storage (KISS) can be configured separately for each location. By integrating 6Storage with KISS, tenants can access units within a specified time frame by assigning units to zones.

To create a location in the KISS portal, enter the Email Address, Password, and Company ID, then click the Save button. This will create the selected location in the Keep It Simple Storage portal.

Configure Keep It Simple Storage (KISS) Integration

    • Go to Settings >> Integration.
    • Click the Keep It Simple Storage logo.
    • Select the required location.
    • Enter the Email, Password and Company Id.
    • Click ‘Save’.

If the entered credentials are invalid, a warning message is displayed - ‘Please Enter Valid Credentials’.

If the entered Company Id is incorrect, a warning message is displayed - ‘Please Enter a Valid Company Id’.

    Zones

Zones group units by area or access level and control when tenants can access them.

Zones are created and managed only in the KISS portal. They cannot be created or deleted in 6Storage.

Any zones configured in the KISS portal are automatically displayed in the 6Storage admin portal under the corresponding location.

The edit icon allows a zone to be set as the default in the Tenant portal.

The zones that were saved in Keep It Simple Storage will be displayed in the Zones tab. To reflect the changes made to zones in the KISS portal, the Keep It Simple Storage integration details page should be opened to sync the changes.

    Note:

    • Units and tenants are created during the Move-In process or on the Edit Tenant page (when the Move-In process failed on the KISS side or when the Move-In was already completed before integrating with KISS).
    • If a unit is created but the tenant has not moved in due to missing required details (such as the tenant’s first name, last name or phone number), actions like Gate Lockout or Access Granted will not update the unit’s status.
    • Entry points and zones will be created using their Manager App or Web Portal.
    • Locks and bundles will be managed through their system. A box of locks will be shipped to the customer, and the locks can be scanned and assigned to unit numbers using the Manager App.

    Tenant Creation Requirements

    • The following fields are mandatory for creating a tenant: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, and Country Code.
    • The First Name and Last Name fields must each contain at least 3 characters.
    • If any of the above conditions are not met, the tenant will not be created, and the unit will remain vacant in the KISS portal.

    Testing the Integration

    Move-In

When integrated with KISS, the Access Hours field will display the available zones during tenant move-in. A single zone can be selected for this field, and the tenant will be created for the unit in the KISS portal.

The following warning toasters will be displayed when tenant creation fails in the KISS portal while doing Move-In:

    • If the tenant does not have a first name, the warning toaster displayed is - Please Update First Name of the Tenant to Create This Tenant in Keep It Simple Storage.
    • If the tenant first name contains fewer than 3 characters, the warning toaster displayed is - First Name of Tenant Must Be At Least 3 Characters to Create This Tenant in Keep It Simple Storage.
    • If the tenant does not have a last name, the warning toaster displayed is - Please Update Last Name of the Tenant to Create This Tenant in Keep It Simple Storage.
    • If the tenant’s last name contains fewer than 3 characters, the warning toaster displayed is - Last Name of Tenant Must Be At Least 3 Characters to Create This Tenant in Keep It Simple Storage.
    • If the tenant does not have a phone number, the warning toaster displayed is - Please Update Phone Number to Create This Tenant in Keep It Simple Storage.
    • If the tenant phone number is not between 7 and 15 digits, the warning toaster displayed is - Phone Number Must Be Between 7 And 15 Digits.
    • If the selected unit is already occupied, the warning toaster displayed is - Unit is Already Occupied in Keep It Simple Storage.

    Edit

On the Tenants page, the zone can be updated by clicking the ‘Update’ button.

If the move-in was performed before the integration, the move-in process will still be executed, and the tenant will be created for that unit.

    Before

    After

The same validation warning messages mentioned in the ‘Move-In’ section will be displayed.

Any changes made to tenant details - such as First Name, Last Name, Phone Number and Country Code - on the Tenants page must also be made in the KISS portal before saving.

    Suspend Access

When access is denied, the unit status will be changed to ‘Overlocked’ if the unit status is ‘Current’.

    Grant Access

When access is granted, the unit status will be changed to ‘Current’ if the unit status is ‘Overlocked’.

If access was denied before integration and the unit was not created in the KISS portal, the unit will be created, and the move-in process will be executed.

    Move-Out

After move-out, the tenant will be removed from the unit if the unit exists in the KISS portal.

    Transfer

After transfer, the tenant will be moved out from the “Transferred From” unit, and a new unit will be created if it does not exist in the KISS portal. The tenant will then be assigned to that unit.

    Before Transfer

    After Transfer

The same validation warning messages mentioned in the ‘Move-In’ section will be displayed.
